Thanksgiving #2 on Saturday

Thanksgiving on Saturday...at Jeri's new house. Dane was going to go by himself with Jerry and Debbie, but Jerry had to work, so I took him so he could play with all of his cousins. Luke had to work...I missed him a lot. The
food was good and the kids had a blast playing in the rocks and dirt in the backyard. Leave it up to kids to have fun with nothing! They got so icky and dirty, but it was worth it because it was pure fun for them! We had fun to watch them too!

Dane on Thanksgiving 2006

Even though he was acting like a heathen most of Thanksgiving, he sure was cute, as always! I am so thankful to have him in our lives. I seriously don't know what we would do without him...our little Dane Dane...and now Luke wants another little one and I'm just not too sure I'm ready for another wild little munchkin! I just know I want to keep this little munchkin forEVER!!!

happy thanksgiving!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving. I was especially happy that we got to spend it with Dad, even though he had just had knee surgery on Wednesday. We were happy to have him here for several days! Dane played with him and gave him "feel better" hugs all the time!

We had a nice Thanksgiving meal attended by Luke's parents as well. I made everything except a casserole and mini pumpkin pies that Luke's mom brought. It was all delicious! After we ate, Luke's parents went home and we watched the Cowboys beat up the Bucs. What a day!

Dane acted awful all day long. I couldn't really pay that much attention to him while I was cooking and he did not like that one bit. He gave Luke hell all day, but we all survived his antics. All together it was a happy thanksgiving.

My little version of Luke

Sometimes it is almost scary how much Dane looks like Luke. I recently saw Luke's kindergarten pictures for the first time and they look almost identical!

Anyway, this is Dane yesterday running and playing outside. He found a small rock (which our driveway is full of) that fascinated him and he just had to make sure I thought it was fascinating too. I love taking pictures of him outside. I love dressing him in his little overalls too...I guess living out in the country is really growing on me!

Night Night Daddy...

Night night kisses couldn't be any more fun when Dane is involved. I don't know what he's doing to Luke with his fingers, but the other one is a Dane version of an Eskimo kiss!

This is what you get when...

...you just keep on shooting pictures of Dane without telling him, "do this", "do that". He is so funny to me the faces he makes and the gestures he makes. What a cute, funny little kid!

Especially in his jinkies...our word for pjs!

Jen's new house

So we went to Jennifer's new house on Tuesday. It is so nice and they've already got it looking like a home. I am so happy for her. Dane kept asking her for something to eat (even though we had just had lunch at On The Border) and so she made him a peanut butter sandwich and milk. I swear, he's always hungry!

Lincoln Log Fun

Dane has been having a ton of fun with his Lincoln Logs. These are the first "houses" that he built all by himself. He now builds Walmart, Home Depot, CVS, and restuarants. All places he goes with us. He is so funny sometimes. He loves to build and then comes and gets one of us to check out his latest creation.

Dane's new backpack

Dane was given this new backpack by his Mammie. He loves it. He carried it with him everywhere he went yesterday...trains all packed inside. He's one train lovin' boy!

Ft Worth Train Show

Sunday we went to the Ft. Worth Train Show at Amon Carter Exhibition Hall. It was Dane's first train show ever and it was a little piece of heaven for him. Dane absolutely LOVED it, of course! There were all kinds of trains in all shapes and sizes, but his favorites were Thomas and James! I wish Luke could've been there, but he had to work. I can't wait until the next time. I don't think I've ever seen Dane have so much fun!

What an imagination!

So it's trains on the brain 24/7 now for little Dane. He now is making his Lincoln Logs be trains and having the time of his life now that he's found a "whole new set of trains". Our advent calendar has become the train wheels (the smallest of the Lincoln Logs) house to sleep in at night. Yes, we already have most of our Christmas stuff up already. What can I say? I just couldn't wait any longer. All these pictures of Dane were taken while he's playing with the Lincoln Log trains. Choo Choo!

Scooter Wooter

Just look at our sweet little boy puppy! So cute huh? He sits here on the couch at about eigth o'clock every night and waits for Luke to get home. He can see the headlights in the window first if he sits here and is patient and he lets us know by barking and whining as loud as possible when Luke drives up! He's such a great pup!

A new disease: Obsessive Train Disorder

Only about two months ago we started buying Thomas the Tank Engine trains and accessories...now Dane is a full on addict, no thanks to us buying him new ones almost every time we go to Walmart even though Christmas is fast approaching. Before he had his little wooden train set and played with it a lot, but now that he has Thomas and has names for all his trains, he is totally obsessed...he doesn't want to talk to anybody unless it's about trains...he only wants to read train books and if we see an actual train (like we did today in Weatherford) oh my, he goes nuts! He loves that Luke gets to play with trains at work...his dream job already at the age of three. I guess it's a good thing I know Santa is going to bring him lots of Thomas stuff for Christmas!
